The EGL624GM is a fully automatic electronic levelling rotating grade / slope laser with easy to use controls - and packed full of features. Simply place laser level on a tripod (optional extra) and press the power button, in seconds it self levels and begins to rotate. The EGL624GM is extremely tough with steel internal chassis and heavy duty rubberised casing. Therefore, it can handle use day in, day out on the toughest of job sites.
The EGL624GM is also electronically self levelling on its side for vertical rotation and includes a dot laser at 90 degrees for site layout.
The EGL624GM features dual manual grade match so you can set a grade on either or both axis using the remote control, so single person grade setting. Where the EGL624GM stands out from the rest is the automatic grade match and tracking facilitated by the LR720T tracking receiver. This feature allows the user to set the LR720T millimeter tracking receiver at a particular height. The laser will then slope its beam on the selected axis to find this height and lock to this grade. This makes setting grades extremely quickly and is especially useful where you want to match to a particular slope on site. This tracking feature can also be used with the laser on its side for vertical alignment, making it an awesome fencing laser.
The EGL624GM comes complete with the NEW for 2026 Heavy Duty LR730T electronic tracking receiver with 1/2 millimeter Display, dual LCD front and back. The EGL624GM also comes with rechargeable batteries and charger, but can also be used with standard "C" batteries or even be powered off the charger/power supply. Also included is a remote control.
This model is ideal for concreters, plumbers, general builders, site square and site levelling as well as internal installation. The LR730T Millimeter receiver makes levelling that bit easier — at a glance you can see how far off level you have. For rough levelling it also makes levelling so much faster.
Our RedBack Lasers come complete in heavy duty carry cases that can handle plenty of the rough stuff. We know not everyone will put their seatbelt around their laser in their ute while driving! That's why we've developed heavy duty carry cases with soft inner foam to absorb as much shock as possible if dropped. Because of this you can use our EGL624GM laser with confidence that they won't go out of calibration in transport, in the back of the ute or being thrown around by the apprentice!
Never get stuck without battery on a jobsite again! Our EGL624GM gives the option of either rechargeable battery or disposable batteries. Featured in this laser is also a backup battery caddy — where you can mount disposable "C" cell batteries in place of the rechargeable if need be.
TILT function is one of the most useful features of RedBack Rotating Laser Levels — helping prevent major discrepancies onsite. If TILT mode is selected and the laser is disturbed or knocked the beam will stop rotating and flash to indicate something has moved. This allows you to reset the laser to be in the correct position before continuing to operate, mitigating any potential errors caused by disturbances to the laser.
The Vibration & Wind Sensor (VWS) Mode is the ideal setting for when you are working in windy, unstable or similar conditions. It will tell the laser to continue spinning even if there are some minor disturbances to the laser, like a gust of wind or vibration from a nearby road or machinery. Normally the laser would try to relevel in order to correct itself after a disturbance — whereas VWS will just continue spinning, minimizing downtime caused by the laser releveling. TILT & VWS modes can be considered opposites to each other: TILT would be better for high accuracy operations whereas VWS is better for high efficiency when accuracy isn't as important.
Scan Mode allows your Rotating Laser that would primarily be used outdoors to be used visibly indoors by spinning the beam back and forth rather than full 360 degree rotations. Scan mode helps to intensify the beam giving you a visible guideline for indoor installation, which can be combined with other functions like grade or manual modes for suspended ceilings & other applications.
Setting a Single Grade or Dual Grade is a breeze with our Slope Remotes. The Remote allows you to easily set grades as a 1-person operator. A slope remote allows you to tilt the beam over on either the x or y (or both) axis to create a grade/slope.
Here's a step-by-step example of how to set a 1 in 60 slope in the x axis:
Manual Mode is the mode of choice when you need to set slopes larger than the Rotating Lasers are capable of setting electronically using their sensors (generally around 8-10%). It basically stops the laser from Auto-Levelling, which allows you to then tilt the laser over manually to create any slope you would like. This is commonly used in conjunction with a Grade Dial Plate (GD12) or Inclinometer/Digital Level, and is often used for steep inclines like driveways as well as suspended ceilings.
Auto Grade Match is one of the easiest & most convenient ways to set grade. Where our Grade Match Rotating Lasers stand out from the rest is the automatic grade match and tracking facilitated by the LR720T & LR730T tracking receivers. This feature allows the user to set the receiver at a particular height. You press a button on the receiver, which then communicates to the laser unit. The laser will then slope its beam on the selected axis to find this height and lock to this grade, making grade setting extremely quick — especially useful where you want to match an existing slope on site.
Auto-grade matching can be used in two main ways:
Method 1 — By setting a grade in the same manner as a manual grade match, but this time the laser searches for and locks on the receiver automatically. There's no need to first find level and then move the receiver the required height to match.
Method 2 — This is when you want to match an existing grade or slope, like setting a constant grade for a driveway on an undulating hillside. This is achieved by setting the height of the rotating laser and receiver on the staff at the same height from the ground. Take the receiver up or down the hill along one of the two axes, then press the Auto Grade Match tracking button, select the axis on the receiver and the laser level does the rest — tracking to and locking onto the position of the receiver and fixing that grade. When the grade is fixed, you use the receiver anywhere along that axis and a level reading indicates that you are on that constant grade.
Imagine a 1 button press to trace a vertical line between your laser & your receiver. That's what our Auto-Tracking Vertical Rotating Lasers give you. This is the gamechanger for anyone looking for a laser level solution for fence alignment, whilst also doubling as an effective option for builders requiring long range set-outs for warehouses, sheds etc. Simply set the rotating laser on its side for vertical rotation with the plane of rotation roughly aimed to the other end of the run you wish to align. Set the receiver up on its side at the far end of the run. Select the auto-grade match on the receiver (this time it has to be the "X" axis) and the beam automatically tracks left to right to find and lock onto the position of the receiver. You can even perform site squaring as the visible dot laser beam is at 90 degrees to this vertical rotating plane.
The EGL624GM uses electronic sensors to automatically level horizontally or vertically. The rotating laser diode then spins around to create a signal which traces a 360 degree "plane" around the laser, which is what the receiver detects to give you readings. The receiver will be able to detect the beam within the range of the laser (700m diameter).
Vertical Alignment is the same principle as horizontal levelling, but with the laser turned on its side (90°) so that the rotating laser beam is tracing a vertical line instead of its usual horizontal. When the EGL624GM is in vertical alignment mode, you simply turn the laser on and wait for it to level and start spinning.
The EGL624GM is one of the easiest lasers to use. Simply mount the laser on a tripod or sit it on a flat surface, then press the power button to turn it on. The laser diode will do a slow flash while it is levelling, then start spinning once it has levelled. Once spinning, you'll be able to detect the beam using the receiver.
The EGL624GM is a great laser for earthmoving due to its easy grade setting, using either the slope remote or Auto Grade Match to quickly & efficiently set single or dual grades. It has been a best-selling laser in Australia for many years as a result.
Aussie plumbers love the EGL624GM because it is a versatile tool in their arsenal. Not only does it help give them quick and easy grade setting, but it also can help with pipe alignment as well.
Fencing is never an easy job. The EGL624GM can help though, giving Aussie farmers & fencing contractors an effective option for one-man fence alignment. Not only does the EGL624GM make fence alignment easy, it also can be used for grading paddocks, building sheds, water drainage & more on farm.
