We have two Laser Levels that we recommend for use with our Automation Systems. These Laser Levels both feature Dual Grade & Auto-Track functions which are the ideal for Automation.

In order to easily control your blade manually when doing the majority of your cut & fill, we have a few options available:
– RedBack Lasers can customize a wiring loom to allow you to use your existing joystick/cabin controls. This option is only available for certain brands of machinery (give us a call on 1800 769 858 to see if yours is compatible.)
Note this option will require a breakout box to allow both the automation & manual controls to feed the hydraulic block.
– Alternatively we can wire up a joystick control if that is preferred or if we cannot create a wiring loom for your machine. If your blade has TILT left/right, or similar function, we can also wire this into the joystick.

If required, RedBack Lasers can supply a hydraulic valve bank with directional valves, flow restrictors & more.
Most blades come complete with the correct valves required to run an automation system, but if you are building one from stratch or want to verify that the valves you have are correct – get in touch with us on 1800 769 858.

Manual or Automated Control
RedBack Lasers’ Automation Systems are designed to give you a smooth consistent & accurate finish.
Manual control using the receivers is still the most effective way for general cut & fill. Our automated systems can be controlled manually in order to do this, using joystick controls or your existing in-cabin controls.
Once the site has been roughly levelled, simply press the auto button and allow the laser to the work.
Plug & Play Systems
We have designed our Automation Systems to be completely “plug & play”
We have everything wired up ready to go, all you need to do is plug in the cords, mount your receiver(s) & control box & away you go!
Single Ram Control or Dual Ram Control
We have automated systems designed to suit your exact needs!
Whether your blade has 1 hydraulic ram to move the height up & down, or 2 hydraulic rams that control the height at each end of the blade, RedBack Lasers has the solution for you!
Single Receiver Automation Systems are generally used for smaller blades or for Land Planes where the height of the whole blade is controlled by 1 ram. This is a cheaper and simpler set-up, but isn’t quite as responsive to changes in height compared to a Dual System.
Dual Systems allow for the most control, as each end of the blade is adjusted to the height reading that the receiver detects from the laser, making it more responsive to changes in height of your blade.
Easily create single or dual slopes
Automated Systems work great for creating a slope. By setting a slope/grade into the laser, the receiver(s) will detect the beam and as you drive along will slowly move in accordance to the slope set in the laser.
Single Systems tend to work best with Single Grades, whereas Dual Receiver Systems are more capable of Dual Slopes (Slopes in two directions at once) as each end of the blade can move independently in accordance with the slope.
Increased Jobsite Efficency
Automated Laser Systems will increase your onsite efficency, by taking the guesswork out of your cut & fill, as well as speeding up your final finish. Rather than trying to constantly chase level using a receiver, simply put the laser into auto and drive along slowly, and allow the laser to smoothly finish to the correct height.
