Lasers built for Calibration
Not a cheap throwaway like most Laser Levels sold in Australia today – many of which can’t even be recalibrated or repaired.

Tough built design – everything mounted on a heavy duty steel chassis designed to be able to handle the rough stuff on site.
You’d think all laser levels are built with tradies in mind – but unfortunately some of the toughest looking lasers on the outside are actually built onto plastic chassis that will snap with any decent drop.
This is why we post photos of the internals of our Lasers – because we’re proud to sell our premium Rotating Lasers & Line Lasers that can actually be repaired & calibrated! Something that is becoming less common with Lasers in Australia. Some of the biggest tool companies sell lasers that no-one can actually recalibrate when they inevitably need it.
Not only do we supply some of the highest quality trade laser levels to suit a multitude of applications – we’ve also got the weekend warriors covered as well!
Budget Lasers don’t have to be sh!t – that’s why we’ve got cheap laser levels to suit every budget. We choose to offer affordable options that may not be as fully featured as some of the trade level gear, but still get the job done and can be relied upon when needed.
Don’t focus on Color when choosing the brightest laser level – look for laser class. Laser Class is the rating given to the power output of the laser diode. Class 3 is <5mw Power Output compared to Class 2 which is <1mW. This makes a huge difference when comparing Line Lasers for brightness.

Tim – Co-founder & YouTube Star
RedBack Lasers (previously CMI Lasers) was created by tradies, for tradies. Born from the belief that a well-kept tool should actually last – not be a throwaway.
Over 20 years later the industry has changed beyond recognition — but our principles haven’t. We still sell laser levels built to handle the rough stuff, designed to be repaired and calibrated at a time when that’s becoming rarer and rarer.
We love seeing customers bring in 15-year-old lasers for a check-over. The batteries have long since karcked it — but the laser itself is still throwing accurate levels. That’s what we’re proud of.
We’ve pioneered auto-grade and auto-alignment technology, developed Australia’s most advanced fence alignment laser system, and we’re the largest seller of Class 3 high-powered line lasers in the country. You deserve a laser you can feel confident in. That’s what we provide.

RedBack Lasers are one of Australia’s leading laser level brands. We have been operating in Australia for over 20 years. We provide our customers with high quality laser level products. We believe that Lasers should never be considered a throwaway tool, so we distribute products that are designed to handle some of the rough stuff, which can easily be able to be calibrated or repaired if required.
RedBack Lasers’ Head Office is based in Geelong, VIC – 40 mins drive from Melbourne.
All of our stock is based in Australia – no dodgy dropshipping or lengthy freight times.

We try to have the ideal laser to suit each individual person’s needs, as well as different laser levels to suit different budgets.
Laser Levels are often used to give quick and easy reference measurements. The majority of our laser levels are “auto-levelling” which means they move freely to find horizontal or vertical as required. They will often either give visual lines that you can use for measurement, or they will project invisible lines that can be detected with receivers.
Line Lasers are great for indoor work, as they will give bright visual indicators that can easily be seen. To use them outdoors, you will likely need to work in darker conditions (dawn or dusk) or get a line laser receiver to detect the beam. These lasers are better for shorter distances.
Rotating Lasers are the best for outdoors, the flashing signal that they project is detected by a receiver. This combination will generally give you higher accuracy, longer distance and sometimes the option to set grades or slopes. These lasers can also be paired up with Earthmoving Receivers to give height indications from inside the cabin of machinery.

It’s a shame as they are some of the biggest tool companies in the world and a lot of Aussies get caught out when no-one will service their laser. So always ask if we can!
