The AUTO1 Rotating Laser by Level1 is a simple to use, compact auto-levelling rotating laser level.

Firstly place the laser level on a tripod (optional extra), secondly unlock the pendulum, then press the power button and you are ready to level.

The AUTO1 can also operate on its side for vertical rotation by placing the laser on its side mount. Levelling is achieved using the adjustment screw and bubble vial. Power up the laser and it will start rotating — note the laser level is manually levelling when in vertical mode. Vertical mode allows for vertical alignment jobs and a dot laser at 90 degrees to the rotating plane allows for basic site squaring.

How does the Auto1 help me level?

The Auto1 uses a pendulum to automatically level to horizontal. The rotating laser diode then spins around horizontal to create a signal that the receiver can detect. This allows you to get consistent height readings within the range of the laser (240m diameter).

What is Vertical Alignment and what can it be used for?

Vertical Alignment is the same principle as horizontal levelling, but with the laser turned on its side (90°) so that the rotating laser beam traces a vertical line instead of its usual horizontal. In vertical alignment mode you do not unlock the pendulum — the laser will beep and flash to alarm you if you try. You simply turn the laser on and allow it to spin without auto-levelling. The Auto1 requires manual levelling in this mode, achieved using the spirit bubble built into the laser. A bracket is included that allows you to easily level the laser without having to move the tripod.
