A site levelling laser is an auto-levelling rotating laser set up on a tripod. It spins a level reference plane across the whole site, and you read that plane with a receiver on a staff – so one person can check or transfer any height from a single set-up. Solo, accurate, dependable.
Yes – that is the point of the range. Set your instrument height off the survey peg, then walk the site with the receiver on the staff. Every height gets marked off the same datum, with no compounding error from re-measuring. The grade models go further: Auto Grade Match sets a grade to the receiver with one button, one person.
A site level runs a dead-flat plane – that is the BASIC614. A grade laser can also tilt that plane to a set fall: the EL614GM grades a single axis via its slope remote, and the DGL1010GM dials falls in two directions at once for compound grades. If falls and drainage are your bread and butter, start at the grade lasers page.

The laser sits on a tripod and the receiver rides on a staff. The 240HDF bundle covers most site work – heavy duty aluminium tripod with a 5/8 inch survey thread and a 2.4m three-section telescopic staff. For earthmoving and bigger height deviations, the 5M5SHDET bundle steps up to an elevating tripod that winds to 3m and a 5m staff.
All three models are sealed to IP66 against dust and water, with the laser built inside a heavy duty steel chassis. They also run a Vibration & Wind Sensor (VWS) mode for harsh conditions and a TILT mode for error mitigation if the unit gets knocked.

FFranz Franz6 months agoCustomer service was above and beyond. Product has met and beaten expectations. They were sold out of the package deal I wanted but contacted me directly when stock came in to offer it without waiting for it to go online. Had the laser over two weeks now and it's light beam is brighter than my mates DeWalt and the receiver works at a longer distance. Another cool feature is that the batteries have a USB C port on them for charging with USB C cable instead of needing another charger. Was dubious about them being cheaper than others on the market but I honestly can't fault it. Carry box also feels strong and sturdy.
