Lasers for Electricians — Mark out solo.
Two product groups for one trade. Multi-line lasers for GPO heights, downlight grids, switchboard layout and conduit alignment. Dot lasers for transferring floor points to ceiling — solo, in seconds. Pick by what work you do most.
Line laser or dot laser?
Both indoor tools, both solo-friendly. Line lasers project a continuous reference along walls and across rooms. Dot lasers concentrate all their power into a single bright point — better for transferring an exact spot from floor to ceiling.
Continuous reference around the room
Horizontal and vertical lines projected across walls. Read with the eye, no receiver needed indoors. Square laser projects two perpendicular vertical lines for set-out.
Best for:
- GPO & switch heights along a wall run
- Downlight grid layout (square + level)
- Switchboard frame & conduit alignment
- Bench & sub-board height datum
Bright point for transferring exact locations
All the laser power in one focused spot. The 2-way plumb dot shoots up and down — transfers a floor mark to the ceiling without a plumb bob, without a second person.
Best for:
- Floor-to-ceiling point transfer (downlights, conduit drops)
- Marking exact downlight positions
- Plumb references for column / chase work
- Sites where line-laser visibility isn’t sharp enough
Line lasers for electricians
Class 3R green-beam multi-line lasers for daily fit-out work — bright, sharp, calibratable. Premium ultra-bright models for daily commercial work; budget models for occasional jobs.
Budget cross-line and multi-line range
Dot lasers for point transfer
2-way and 3-way plumb-dot lasers — concentrate all the laser power in a single point for maximum brightness and exact placement. The standout tool for transferring floor positions to ceiling for downlight set-out.

Electrical fit-out jobs a laser pays for itself on
Where a laser earns its keep on electrical work — most of these are jobs you’d otherwise mark with a tape and chalk line, or do twice with a plumb bob.
GPO & switch heights
Set the laser at GPO height, walk every outlet on the wall to the line. Same for switches at switch height. One person, no chalk line, every plate hits the same level.
Downlight grid set-out
Square multi-line laser sets the row and column lines for a downlight grid in one set-up. Mark the intersections, drill the cans, every light hits the right spot.
Floor-to-ceiling point transfer
Plumb-dot laser shoots up and down. Mark the floor where the GPO or downlight needs to land, place the laser there, the ceiling mark appears directly above. Solo, accurate, no plumb bob.
Switchboard & sub-board level
Frame the switchboard plumb and level before the boards go in. Vertical line plumbs the rails, horizontal line sets the top and bottom edges square to the wall.
Conduit run alignment
Long horizontal line sets a conduit run dead level around the room or down the wall. No re-measuring at every fixing point.
Commercial fit-out grids
Office partitions, suspended-ceiling tile mod, signage runs, equipment racks. Square laser sets out grids of any scale from a single set-up.
The RedBack difference
Anyone can sell a laser. Few back it properly.
Specialist range, not filler
We sell laser levels and measurement tools — that’s it. Every laser on this page is one we’ve used and chosen because it works for sparkies, not because it fills a catalogue page.
Built to last, built to be repaired
Solid construction, built for the long term. RedBack provides in-house repair and calibration services for all RedBack lasers and most other laser brands.

Call us and you’ll speak to someone who knows the products. No scripts, no call centre, no runaround — just straight answers from people who’ve worked with these tools for 25 years.
Accessories for sparkies
Indoor monopole for floor-to-ceiling height adjustment, wall mount bracket for permanent positions, suction mount with dust collection for clean drilling, plus line laser receivers for outdoor work.
Setting up a kit for fit-out work?
