What is Grade Tracking?
Electronic Auto Grade Tracking is a radio link between the laser and the receiver. Set the receiver at the height you want on one of the laser’s axes, press the tracking button on the receiver, and the laser slopes up or down until the beam locks onto it. Auto-grade matches in seconds — fast, accurate, repeatable.
It’s one of the most efficient ways to set a grade available on the market — and crucially, it lets one person do the job. Compare that to manual slope-setting, which often needs two: one at the laser dialling in the slope, one at the staff calling out whether you’ve gone too far. With Grade Tracking, the laser does the dialling for you.
Not every RedBack rotating laser features Grade Match — only the models with a mm tracking receiver (LR720T / LR730T) and “GM” at the end of the product name. The four lasers below all share the feature, with three tiers of capability layered on top.

Auto Grade Match
Automatic grade setting with tracking in the horizontal plane to the mm receiver. The entry point — same auto-track magic, simpler feature set, lower cost.
Auto Grade Match + Auto Align
Adds vertical-plane auto alignment to the grade tracking — the laser can be set on its side and tracked along a vertical line. Game-changer for fence alignment and long-range building set-out.
