Fencing contractors traditionally have to “sight in” posts by eye or through a scope, with a second person moving the post left or right until it lines up between two strainers. RedBack’s Fencing Lasers follow the same proven concept — but replace the spotter with a laser and receiver.
This makes accurate fence alignment a true one-person job. The receiver guides you to the exact position of the laser beam, which is aimed directly at your target strainer or destination point. No more stringlines or sighter wires. Easily handles hills and gullies, and can be set up at an offset when required.
RedBack’s unique Auto-Align function calibrates the laser level to the alignment scope, allowing you to accurately aim toward your destination point.
Walk along your fenceline & use the Receiver to find the position of the laser beam, and mark the ground for each post.
Once all Fence Posts are marked and rammed in, move laser to last post to repeat the process.

RedBack Lasers Fence Alignment Kits are designed to be fully 1-person operational. The set-up of the alignment kit is easy enough, aligning the laser level to match the scope is a 1-button press, and marking out the posts can all be done by 1-person.
If you’re struggling to get workers or anyone to help with your fencing jobs, the Fencing Laser Kit can take the guesswork out of alignment.
Our Fence Kits have two different set-up methods.
1) You can set the laser up to be “in-line” with your fence. This means that your laser & your scope are both aiming where your fenceline will be marked. This is often the easiest way to go when first starting to use our alignment kits.
The only downside of the “in-line” setting is for people who might prefer to ram in each post as they go, as the posts will likely get in the way of the receiver detecting the laser.
2) The Laser can be setup to be at an offset to the Scope. This is the preferred way for those who want to ram in each post once they’ve marked them out. This ensures the Laser & Receiver have clear line of sight even when posts are rammed in.
RedBack Lasers Fence Alignment Kits are designed for long-range rural fencing. The 9x Variable Zoom scope allows you to easily target a destination over a kilometer away to fence towards.
The Laser & Receiver component itself normally allows you to mark out approximately 350m-400m of posts in one set-up when fencing in one direction from a strainer post. Once a sufficient amount of posts have been marked out & rammed in, you can easily bunnyhop to the last post & continue marking posts out from there.
Longer distances can be reached if the laser is put somewhere in the middle of the fenceline, giving you 700m-800m off one set-up, although this takes longer to set-up as you will have to try and find a middlepoint of the fence you wish to build (we recommend doing it from a post to begin with).
Range will vary depending on conditions – the further you stretch the distance the more intermittant the receiver will be.
Another huge benefit of Laser Fence Alignment compared with Stringlines, Sighter Wires & other methods is that these Lasers shoot a complete 360º Vertical Line out of the laser.
This means that as long as the receiver has line of sight of the laser, it will be able to detect the beam. This can be up the top of a hill or way down in the bottom of a gully, making it the perfect solution for fencing in hilly country.
Our Fencing Lasers have easy perpendicular brackets that allow the scope to be moved to aim at 90º to the fenceline you wish to build. This gives you an easy way to ensure that your paddocks are square.
The Fence Alignment Kit is relatively modular, and can be mounted & used in many different ways.
The most common way is to use a Tripod to firmly anchor the laser kit into the ground, and then sliding the laser & scope to sit over the top of a strainer post/line post.
There is a bracket that allows you to screw directly into the post as well to fix the kit directly onto it when in use.
The reason why our Fence Alignment Kits fundamentally work is because we can align the laser line to be in line with the scope. If you tried to use any other rotating or line laser to trace a vertical line for fencing, your laser could be aiming anywhere.
Our unique Auto-Align function means that you can pick a point within 50m to aim to through the scope (can be a star post, edge of a tree, paint mark on the ground etc.). While the scope is aiming at that point, you can take your receiver over to the exact same mark, and with the push of a button the laser will move until it finds the receiver, and locks in on that position.
Once the scope and the laser are aiming in the same direction, you can then rotate the laser & wherever you sight through your scope to, your laser line will be aiming the same way, ready to be detected by the receiver.
Our Fencing Lasers utilize some of our best Rotating Laser Levels, which are commonly used for Earthmoving, Levelling, Dual Grade/Slope, Concreting, Shed Set-outs, Landscaping amongst others.
